Avocado oil is derived from the flowering plant belonging to the Lauraceae family, scientifically known as Persea Americana. The avocado tree grows up to 20 metres tall and has leaves ranging from 12 to 25 cm in length. Its greenish-yellow flowers produce a pear-shaped fruit known as avocado—a large berry containing a single seed. The tree is native to South Central Mexico.

This oil is thick, has a waxy texture, and has a nutty aroma and is green in colour due to its chlorophyll content. It is heavy and provides a soothing feel on the skin.
