Rosemary Oil as per BP Grade (British Pharmacopoeia)

Salvia rosmarinus, commonly known as rosemary, is a fragrant evergreen shrub with needle-like leaves and pale blue, pink, or purple flowers. It is native to the Mediterranean region and belongs to the Lamiaceae family—also known as the mint family. The leaves measure about 4 cm long and 2–5 mm wide, dark green on top and silvery white underneath. The plant typically blooms during spring and summer in temperate climates.

History and Traditional Use of Rosemary Oil

Rosemary was considered sacred by the Greeks, Egyptians, Hebrews, and Romans. In ancient times, its oil and leaves were used in religious rituals, spiritual purification, and culinary preparations across the Mediterranean. In Egypt, it was also valued for incense and embalming purposes.

Key Chemical Constituents

The primary components of rosemary essential oil include 1,8-cineole (43.7%), camphor (12%), alpha-pinene, linalool, thymol, gamma-terpinene, and eucalyptol. These compounds contribute to the oil’s therapeutic and aromatic properties.

Extraction Process (How It’s Made)

Our rosemary oil is extracted through the steam distillation method, using freshly harvested rosemary leaves. This method ensures the oil retains maximum potency and purity.
